Café René has created a medium-roasted coffee which comes with a taste that is at the milder end, but which nevertheless has a distinct body and aroma.

It can work well as afternoon coffee, together with, for example, a delicious piece of dark chocolate, or as evening coffee just before bedtime.

This coffee although a decaffeinated pod had a good deep flavour, I would give it 5* for flavour but what let this brand down is the quality of the pods themselves. I had over a half burst in the machine and I ended up with coffee everywhere and what I did get in my cup was full of grains. If the pod construction improved I would definitely buy more, I could have been unlucky and just got a faulty batch.
